East Africa’s wildlife, forests, and communities are the reason this business exists. Protecting them is not a side project — it is the whole point.

We only partner with properties that actively fund anti-poaching, habitat protection, and species monitoring. A percentage of every booking goes directly to the conservation programmes that protect the animals you come to see.
More than 80% of our lodge partners employ the majority of their staff from communities within 30km of their property. We prioritise guides, lodges, and activities that put money directly and meaningfully into local hands.
We calculate the carbon footprint of every itinerary we design — flights, ground transport, and accommodation. We then offset 110% of that footprint through verified African reforestation and renewable energy projects.
We design cultural experiences that are authentic, consensual, and genuinely beneficial to the communities that share them. No staged performances or extractive tourism — only encounters built on equal terms and mutual respect.
Every Clan Adventure guide receives ongoing training in low-impact wildlife viewing — minimum approach distances, off-road driving ethics, and responsible trekking protocols that put animal welfare first.
All Clan Adventure vehicles and camps are single-use plastic free. We provide reusable bottles, filtered water, and biodegradable products on every safari. Our goal is zero single-use plastic in the field.
Wildlife
Tourism is Africa’s most powerful conservation tool. When wildlife is worth more alive than dead — when communities earn income from safari guests — the incentive to protect rather than poach becomes overwhelming.
A fixed contribution from every Clan Adventure booking goes into a conservation fund, distributed among our partner organisations based on need and impact.
Community
The Maasai, the Batwa, and communities around Bwindi and the Serengeti live alongside the wildlife whose cooperation is essential to its survival. We work only with lodges and operators whose community programmes are meaningful and monitored.
Our guides are East African nationals with deep personal knowledge of the ecosystems they work in. We pay fair rates and invest in ongoing training and certification.
Carbon
Flying to East Africa has a carbon cost. We calculate that cost — including flights, ground transport, and accommodation — and offset 110% through verified African projects such as the Kasigau Corridor REDD+ programme in Kenya and cookstove programmes in Tanzania.
We choose African offset projects so investment stays on the continent. Carbon certificates are provided to every guest upon return.
